The statistics are mind-boggling. While officials and politicians attempt to oscillate between publicly minimizing the risk and attempting to deal with it, more Americans carry on drinking contaminated water.
With its finger firmly on the pulse, Todd Haynes’ film Dark Waters opened just before Thanksgiving. It lays bare the story of a lawyer representing a cattle farmer from Parkersburg, West Virginia; who …
In recent years, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has preferred a relatively nonchalant approach to the carcinogenic chemical that’s present in food containers and drink bottles across the country, declining to upgrade the risk in line with scientists’ concerns.
Experts in the field have long felt the FDA’s position has jarred with the more cautionary scientific view.
“The stance the FDA’s had for a number of years is probably narrow-sighted.” – Christopher Kassotis, University of Missouri

A shocking new study from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) has revealed that exposure to the cocktail of lethal carcinogens in America’s tap water causes or contributes to over 100,000 cancer cases in the US over a lifetime.
The peer-reviewed study puts much of the toxic culpability on the presence of three main contaminants found in the water supply to millions of homes:
This disturbing report means that more and more people are being prompted into finding a long-term, reliable solution to protect their family from contaminated tap water.
EWG Recommends Home Water Filters
The EWG has suggested installing individual water filters at home.

Water: refreshing, hydrating…deadly?
Sorry to be the bearers of bad news, but it’s time to make some tough, but necessary, choices about the water you drink. The stuff that comes out of your taps – or even out of a bottle – might contain a few unwelcome elements and some that are positively deadly.

Their innovation? Using NASA-inspired technology to clean up lead-contaminated water in schools for fellow students using a two-stage filtration jar, designed to filter the water and remove impurities.

A Short History of Environmental Heroism
Just after Flint officials notoriously switched the city water source in April 2014 to save money, LeeAnne Walters started to become concerned that the water she and her four children were drinking was harmful.
She was, of course, right, but proving it was a struggle. State authorities didn’t want to listen and LeeAnne worked tirelessly with the EPA and Marc Edwards, a …
Let’s not beat around the bush. If we ignore for a moment all the important benefits of hydrogen alkaline water and look purely at the issue of filtration, it’s no secret that there are cheaper ways to filter your water than with a water ionizer.
At some point, many people consider buying a jug filter. Pitchers are cheap and easy to use, but how do they really compare?
Putting You in The Pitcher
Even the most high-end and technically advanced filter pitchers have only a tiny proportion of the capabilities of a water ionizer. They remove some impurities from your water and make it taste better, but quite often, …
