Single use plastics take five minutes to produce, five minutes to use and 500 years to break down, the vice-president of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans, told reporters recently. Â
In a move that highlights just how catastrophic the risk of choking the planet in plastic really is, the EU has announced a plan to ensure that by 2030, all packaging on the continent must be reusable or recyclable.
No More Plastic Imports to China
The move is partly in response to China announcing that it will no longer accept plastic waste imports. Â For years, EU countries have met their own higher recycling targets and reduced landfill by shipping the excess to China. Â Here, the large-scale …

If you’re among the just-over-half of the population who didn’t make a New Year resolution, then by now you might fall into one of two camps.  The first is being oblivious to the whole thing and simply getting on with life without the pressure/pleasure of a self-imposed goal to work towards.
The second camp includes those who look on with a touch of envy at the bright-eyed fervor of those winning at their resolutions.  They have a goal.  A “thing.” Something to help pass the long, decidedly un-festive January days.  Dry January?  Veganuary?   At this stage of the month, if you haven’t given something up, then you might be feeling …
Something else has been identified as a potential health hazard in our water. Â To add to the cocktail of potential contaminants that flow out of taps across America, salt has recently been identified as the latest water worry. Â
How Our Soil Gets Salty
Increased use of road salt is a major cause, as is mining, fossil-fuel production and the use of some fertilizers. Â The salt seeps into the ground where excessive sodium dislodges the stable soil minerals such as calcium and potassium, changing the composition of the soil itself.
Of course, whatever is in the soil will end up seeping through to our water supply. Â The salty water eventually trickles through the layers …

Let’s start by saying that if you already pull on your running shoes as soon as the alarm goes off, or if you cycle to your Bodypump class three times a week, you can safely skip this blog and go and enjoy a chilled glass of Tyent water and pat yourself on the back!
However, if, like many of us, your sports gear has gathered a little dust lately, and your gym subscription is starting to feel more like a charitable donation you make every month, then maybe you could use a little motivation to improve your fitness levels in 2018!
It’s here…that time of year when we look to our less healthy habits and try to quit them, or at least improve them where possible!
Let’s Get This Detox Started!
One popular way of kick-starting a new, healthy approach is by detoxing. For some, detoxing is giving up one or two things – alcohol for example – and for others, it’s about cleansing your system and heading into the New Year feeling refreshed and healthier.
While a few people favor an extreme approach to detoxing, for most of us, that’s not practical or desirable.   Much more realistic is our simple, 3-point version that will enable you to …

Detox is for January. We will reach those cold, post-Christmas days soon enough. Our glittery Christmas dress hung away, its sparkle dimmed at the back of the closet and the freezer filled with little vacuum packs of turkey.
But for now, the buzzword is Pretox.
Prepare Your Body

Sure you do! As we approach the holiday season, our thoughts turn to the wonderful dishes that we traditionally serve as part of the feast. Of course, the centerpiece of most tables is the turkey!
Just add Tyent Alkaline Water…
Now a roast turkey with all the trimmings is a thing of joy, but there’s a super easy chef’s trick that can make your turkey even more flavorsome and moist than ever before. You might even have heard about it – brining! That’s right, simply leaving your turkey to marinade in a solution of salt water can make a good turkey into a truly great one!
When it comes to spending money, especially making a significant purchase, most of us will pose the question to ourselves, “Do I really need this in my life?”
Do I Need a Water Ionizer? Â
So when it comes to a water ionizer, let’s consider three of the most popular reasons many people purchase one. Â
Hydration.  Makes sense.  We all need to drink water.  Many people are reluctant to trust tap water or bottled water these days, but we all need to drink something! Hydrating with delicious, mineral-rich, hydrogen water, is possibly one of the best things you can do for your body.
Energy. Â From water? Â From the day you start drinking
