From the moment you open your eyes in the morning, you begin to make choices.

Those choices, whether made through habit or based on purpose, can either set you up for success or let the day dictate those choices for you.

When you take control of how your day unfolds, this is not just healthy, but very empowering as well.

Research shows the best way to set the tone for the day is to tweak your morning routine to work in your favor.

What Should Be a Healthy Morning Routine?

Below, I reveal the 5 most pivotal actions to take every morning to start your day on a healthy note:

1) Drink Water

Immediately upon rising, drink 16 ounces of water.

When you’ve gone 8 hours without ingesting water due to sleeping, you are mildly dehydrated.

Dehydration can be reversed immediately by drinking water that ultimately prevents fatigue, headaches, lethargy, joint pain and much more.

Drinking healthy water is key – and you really should reconsider drinking tap water that has not been filtered.
