Keeping a Healthy Body | Simple Tips to Follow
1. Eat Well
Healthy eating starts with a diet that contains a good balance of nutrients your body needs, such as protein, carbs, and fiber. Each person’s calorie intake depends on their age.
Here is a list of the recommended daily calorie intake according to age based on the USDA:
- 2-8 years: 1,000-1,400
- 9-13 years: 1,400-1,600 (girls) and 1,600-2,000 (boys)
- 14-30 years: 2,400 (active women), 1,800-2,000 (sedentary women), 2,800-3,200 (active men), and 2,000-2,600 (sedentary men)
- over 30 years: 2,000-3,000 (active men and women) and 1,600-2,400 (sedentary men and women)
2. Perform Daily Exercise
Having a healthy and balanced diet is always great when paired with a daily workout. Your body also needs to move to keep it going.
You can perform exercises that increase your heart rate and lung capacity to allow you to burn more stored fats. A simple 30-minute walking is already a good form of exercise.
Lung Capacity Definition: The volume of air inside the lungs when inhaling or breathing.
3. Get More Sleep
Sleeping is the perfect time for your body to recharge. For this reason, the quality and quantity of your sleep matter most.
Aim for at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night to achieve the quality of sleep you deserve. If you feel sleepy during the day, take a nap as it will help you re-energize to continue your day.
4. Do the Things You Enjoy
Doing things that make you happy is also an important factor in maintaining a healthy body. You need to take a break from work and go out and have fun from time to time.
Life is about a balance between your mind and body, and doing things you enjoy helps you reach a healthy mind. A person without the proper work-life balance is often at high risk of diseases and experiences more stress than those who have it.
5. Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water, especially alkaline water, each day also contributes to keeping a healthy body weight.
Your body can go for long periods without food but not without water. Water primarily aids in the metabolic process, which is one of the major processes of the body.
You can also consume foods high in water such as fruits and veggies as other alternatives. Limit your consumption of alcohol and drinks with caffeine because these cause dehydration.
6. Listen to Your Body
If you’re feeling aches and pains, don’t ignore them. These are warning signs that your body needs some special attention.
If you think you need to visit a physician because you experience some symptoms, don’t hesitate to do so.
