Thousands of people every year are affected by breast cancer, either directly or indirectly. Â According to the Cancer Statistics Center, 255,180Â new cases are anticipated during 2017, which are projected to result in some 41,070 deaths from breast cancer across America before the year is out.
Can We Reduce Our Risk Factors?
Despite these statistics, deaths from breast cancer have been decreasing since 1989, largely due to better detection rates through screening, increased awareness and improved methods of treatment. Â
So what can we do to help our bodies stay as healthy as possible and actively lower the risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer? Â
Diet is a vital factor. Â Making your body as healthy as possible, with a boosted immune system, improves your chance of staying well.
Eat Well and Exercise Often
Along with taking regular exercise, we know that we should be eating lots of fruit and vegetables and that whole-grains are good for us.  However, that advice has become so ubiquitous that there’s a risk of it being background noise.  But the message is important – nutrients from food are vital to our health. Avoid trans fats; don’t eat too many convenience foods and lower your fat intake to keep your body in good shape. Â
Go Organic if Possible
There is a concern that a causative link can be drawn between herbicides and pesticides used to grow food and an increase in breast cancer risk.  It makes sense to switch to organic produce if it’s within your budget, or remove hard-to-shift chemicals with the Turbo setting on your Tyent Ionizer:
Drink Clean, Safe Water
Research has shown that the water you drink — whether it’s from your home faucet or bottled water from a store — may not always be as safe as it could be.
Bacteria, toxins, traces of medication, metals, plastic fibers and other contaminants are present in our source water.  Standard tap and jug filters cannot remove them.  To ensure that you’re drinking clean, safe water, a water ionizer is a reassuring option.
BreastCancer.Org suggest that if we choose, for example, to drink bottled “well water” or “spring water,” then the product should be filtered through an absolute 1 micron, or smaller, filter.
Tyent Water Ionizers have the same micron level and filtration capabilities as a kidney dialysis machine. Â This means that over 200 contaminants including up to 99% of lead, mercury, beryllium, uranium and fluoride are removed from your source water, if a two-bank filter is fitted. Â
Fundraise and Share Your Story
Finally, examine your breasts regularly and seek immediate advice from your healthcare provider if you have any concerns. Â Want to find out about any fun runs or fundraising going on in your area for Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Â Check out events near to you or how about starting your own with a few friends? Â
