Why is This Soda Study So Important?

“In this large multinational European study, a higher level of consumption of total, sugar-sweetened, and artificially sweetened soft drinks was associated with increased risk of death from all causes. The positive association between soft drink consumption and mortality was evident for both men and women.”

This particular study is extremely comprehensive – so the picture that emerges is much clearer.

451,753 people from 10 European countries took part over a period of 8 years, so the results are collected from an extensive pool of data.

What Kind of Soda is Dangerous?

There is no “better” option here – this study sheds light on the evidence that both sugar-type and artificially sweetened sodas are associated with early mortality.

According to this research, yes.

We’re not even talking about a huge amount of the stuff – the scientists found that just two glasses of artificially-sweetened soda every day could be linked to death from circulatory diseases.

The sugar-laced versions were associated with death from diseases of the digestive system, including the liver, appendix, pancreas, and intestines.

Are There Other Risks to Drinking Soda?

You bet there is.

Thankfully, our consumption has been in decline for some time now, but the relatively recent revelations that many big-brand soda samples also contain varying concentrations of microplastics is yet another reason to avoid it.

And that’s before you think about the damage that a post-workout soda might be doing to your body.

Is a Water Ionizer the Best Alternative to Drinking Soda?

It sure is!

With the worry about just how toxic our drinking water might be gathering pace all the time, we need a safe, reliable alternative.

A water ionizer filters, ionizes, and transforms your regular tap water into clean, hydrogen-rich alkaline water that tastes amazing!
