We have two large filters that form a dual filtration system with the same 0.01-micron level and filtration capabilities as a kidney dialysis machine. The primary filter contains ACF active carbon that removes large contaminants like organic compounds, chlorine, rust, and sediment, while the secondary filter contains ceramic material that balances the ions and minerals in the water. These Ultra Filters remove over 200 contaminants including 99% of toxins like lead, beryllium, manganese, chlorine, and pharmaceuticals. My family and I are already satisfied with my RO system so I don’t see a need to buy another machine to clean my water.
Hi, Fatima. It’s good that you and your family have been taking the steps to clean your water. However, we want to point out that reverse osmosis (RO) removes a lot of the good minerals from your water, which your body needs. Even if your body gets much of its nutrients from food, mineral-rich water is still a huge supplemental source. RO water has no minerals, so it can pose health problems. Reverse osmosis removes the bad stuff from your water as well as the good minerals that your body needs, which is why we don’t suggest drinking it.
This recent eco-epidemiological study of 13,723 girls and 16,161 boys noted that – among other issues – low-mineral water can retard height growth and increase the possibility of dental decay. Alongside the health risks, there is also another important issue with demineralized water: it is corrosive to metal pipes, containers, and storage tanks, giving rise to the risk of contamination. The World Health Organization (WHO) took a comprehensive look at minerals in water and the potential risks of reverse osmosis. Ultimately, we align our view with the WHO statement: that long-term consumption, “has a definite adverse influence on the animal and human organism.”
If you do want to keep your reverse osmosis machine to deep clean your water, we recommend that you hook it up to a Tyent water ionizer so that you get healthy antioxidants and minerals in your water, as well. Again, what you don’t want to do is take out all of the minerals in your water and then drink it because your body needs these minerals.
